Our Goals

Long Term

Tekiah Foundation plan to use this program to affectively address the scourge of drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, HIV and Aids and juvenile delinquency, caring for babies that have been negatively affected due to the parent/s drug and alcohol abuse.
We also plan to use this as a platform for life skills training, peer counseling, life coaching etc.
As we know, levels of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity among young people are a major problem, particularly in poorer communities. The causes of crime and disaffection among young people are complex and multidimensional, and it would be incorrect and unrealistic to claim that sport and recreation alone can reduce the levels of youth crime in society. However, over the last few years Tekiah Foundation has proved that, sports, outdoor pursuits and constructive leisure activities can be used to divert offenders and young people at risk away from crime.
Through ‘In Their Shoes’ single parenting, Tekiah Foundation will address the intractable social problems arising from the affects of children raised in single parent homes
